Bags. Inside the castle, bags and rucksacks must be worn on the front of the body, in full view. This also applies to baby carriers. Suitcases are not allowed inside the castle. A cloakroom is located at the entrance to the castle, and is staffed.
Toilets are located in the courtyard. These are open during opening hours and in connection with pre-booked tours. At the car park (Midsommarängen), the toilets are open from 1 May to 30 September, 09:00 to 16.30. No charge.
Parking spaces. Parking for cars and coaches is available at the entrance to the castle. No charge. Parking is permitted from 06:00 to 23:00.
Buggies that have been specially adapted to avoid damaging the castle's sensitive interiors are available for hire. If you bring your own buggy, this should be parked outside the entrance or at the Sjöportsvalv archway. These areas are unattended, and there are no locking facilities.
Mobile phones must be turned off during your visit.
Photographing and filming are allowed for private use – without flash/lights, tripods, selfie sticks or other fixed equipment – as long as it does not disturb other visitors, guided tours, or other activity at the palace. Photographing and filming with 360 camera or drone camera is not allowed. Commercial or other arranged photography or filming are not allowed.
For commercial use, permission in advance is needed from the Information Department at the Royal Court, at photo@royalcourt.se.
Elevator information. The Royal Gift Shop and Modellkammaren are accessible for wheelchairs. No elevators at the castle.
Steps/Ramps. Several steps and differences in ground levels. No ramps.
Wheelchair accessible toilets are located by the car park and at the Outer Courtyard. No charge.
Parking for the disabled is available at at the right side of the castle, just before the drawbridge.
Companions to visitors with disabilities have free admission.
