Concert featuring the Life Guards' Dragoon Music Corps
An ensemble from the Life Guards' Dragoon Music Corps will perform at Strömsholm Palace this summer, taking audiences on a musical journey from the Renaissance to modern times.
The Life Guards' Dragoon Music Corps is one of the Swedish Armed Forces' three professional bands. Mälardrottningen is an ensemble from the Life Guards' Dragoon Music Corps, consisting of six brass players and a percussionist. The sextet performs at ceremonies and other Swedish Armed Forces events when there is a need for a smaller ensemble.
In August, the ensemble will perform at Gripsholm and Strömsholm as part of a short tour. The ensemble will take audiences on a musical journey through time from the Renaissance to the modern day, including music by Byrd, Peterson-Berger and Heaton.

The Life Guards' Dragoon Music Corps performs both on foot and on horseback, in many different contexts, from parades, concerts and ceremonial occasions to international tours. One of the Corps' main duties is the Mounted Guard, which rides at the head of parades through the streets of Stockholm to the Royal Palace and performs during the changing of the guard.
