Nobel Banquet 1983

The evening gown is sewn in a light claret-coloured faille, for the Finnish state visit. This 1980s model has a full skirt and arms, highlighting the small waist.

This year The Queen is wearing Queen Sofia’s diamond tiara with a Russian parure consisting of diamond-framed topaz earrings, a necklace of diamonds and topaz gemstones with three pendants as well as a diamond brooch with topaz gemstones and a pendant.

OUR QUEEN – DRESSED FOR A NOBEL BANQUET
Year 2006 marked 30 years since Silvia Sommerlath became Queen of Sweden. It was, among other events, celebrated with an exhibition featuring the evening gowns worn by The Queen to the Nobel Banquets 1976–2006.
