Is it possible to take wedding photos inside the royal palaces?
Wedding photography is not permitted in the rooms of the royal palaces.
In the case of wedding ceremonies in Drottningholm Royal Chapel, Rosersberg Palace Chapel, Strömsholm Palace Chapel and Ulriksdal Palace Chapel, it is fine to take photographs in the chapel, but not in the rooms of the palaces.
Is it possible to take wedding photos in the palace parks?
It is permitted to take wedding photos for private use in our palace parks. Please respect the following: it is not permitted to set up bulky photography equipment and/or props, to cordon off or drive vehicles onto our park areas or in any other way disturb other park visitors.

Can I pre-book a ticket for the general palace tours?
Tickets can be purchased on the same day at any of our ticket offices; no advance purchase available.
Are there any storage lockers at the royal palaces?
The Royal Palace of Stockholm: There are a few storage lockers available at Tickets & Information and in the Tre Kronor Museum. However, we would recommend not bringing any large bags with you. The other royal palaces and visitor attractions: No storage lockers available.
Can I take my bag into the royal palaces?
Small bags are permitted at our visitor attractions. Rucksacks should be carried in your hand or on your front. Do not leave any bags unattended. Bags and cases with wheels are not permitted.
Can I take a pushchair into the royal palaces?
Pushchairs are not permitted indoors.
Are there any pushchair parkings at the royal palaces?
The Royal Palace of Stockholm: At the entrance to the Reception Rooms, in the Outer Courtyard there is a limited amount of space for pushchairs. Under cover, but unmonitored and no locking facility.
Riddarholm Church: At the entrance to Riddarholm Church. Under cover, but unmonitored and no locking facility.
Drottningholm Palace: Outside the entrance. Under cover, but unmonitored and no locking facility.
Other visitor attractions: No pushchair parking.
Which royal visitor attractions can I explore at my own pace?
The Royal Palace of Stockholm, Riddarholm Church, Drottningholm Palace, the Chinese Pavilion, Gripsholm Castle, Strömsholm Palace and the Orangery at Ulriksdal can be explored at your own pace.
The other palaces are by guided tour.
Is it possible to hire rooms at the royal palaces for dinner functions/events?
Strömsholm Palace: The dining room in the Stone Kitchen can be hired for dinner functions.
The other palaces: Room hire is not possible.
Are audio guides available for the royal palaces?
The Royal Palace of Stockholm: An audio guide in Swedish and English is available for the Bernadotte Apartments and Gustav III’s Museum of Antiquities.
The Chinese Pavilion: An audio guide is available in Swedish and English
Audio guides are not available at present for the other palaces.
Can I get around by wheelchair/walking frame at the royal palaces?
Circumstances differ at the various venues. Please look for more information under the heading "Visit us" for the venue you wish to visit or contact our reservations department on +46 (0)8-402 61 00.
When is the Drottningholm garden open?
The garden is open around the clock. There is no entrance fee.
What currency can I pay with?
It is possible to pay with Swedish kronor (SEK), Euro and Dollar. For Euro and Dollar only bills are accepted and change is given in Swedish kronor. It is also possible to pay by credit card.
At the Royal Stables you can pay with Swedish kronor and by debit card, but not with Euro and Dollar.
Am I allowed to take pictures inside the royal palaces?
Photography and filming for private use are permitted inside and outside the palaces. However, flashes/lamps, tripods, selfie sticks and other fixed equipment must not be used, and you must not disturb other visitors, tours or any other activities.
This permission does not apply to commercial or other organised photography or filming. For photography and filming for other purposes, please contact the Marketing Department.
The Royal Palace of Stockholm, Drottningholm Palace and Haga Palace are specially classified facilities, and the following rules apply:
- The Royal Palace of Stockholm: photography and filming from the air are forbidden.
- Drottningholm Palace: photography and filming from the air are forbidden.
- Haga Palace: photography and filming from the air are forbidden. Nor may Haga Palace be photographed or filmed from the ground.
